The A926 connects it to Forfar and the wider Angus road network, while the A94 to the south links motorhomers heading up from Perth and the central belt. It’s a small market town, best known as the birthplace of J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan — the Peter Pan Birthplace museum is a genuine draw. To the north, the landscape opens out into the Angus Glens, with Glen Clova and Glen Prosen both accessible from the town. The Cairngorms National Park boundary isn’t far beyond.
