Built in the mid-19th century, it features an unusually well-preserved historic interior with pine fittings and several cosy traditional rooms such as a skittles room and panelled parlours. It is noted on the Campaign for Real Ale’s National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors for its character and heritage. The pub combines historical charm with modern comforts, also offering boutique cottage rooms and a camping field for overnight stays, making it a unique destination for motorhome owners.
