The Black Horse Pub Stopover — Village Pub Motorhome Stop Near Cambridge
📍 High Street, Rampton, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB24 8QE
About this Motorhome Stop
At just £5 a night, The Black Horse in the village of Rampton is one of the most affordable legal motorhome stopovers in England — holding a full CAMpRA exemption certificate and operating entirely above board. The pub has space for two motorhomes or campervans on the left-hand side of the building, with fresh water available on site. It’s no-frills, but at this price point nobody is complaining.
Rampton is a quiet fenland village between Cambridge and Huntingdon, with the pub serving as a classic community local. Call ahead on the pub number or the landlord’s mobile (07411 401080) to book — with only two pitches and such exceptional value, advance contact is genuinely essential rather than merely advisable.
Cambridge city centre is roughly 7 miles south, making this a practical budget base for a day trip into the university city without paying the inflated campsite prices you’ll find nearby. The flat Cambridgeshire countryside is perfect for cycling, and the village’s own medieval earthwork — Giant’s Hill — is a short walk away.
