About the Pub 🏠
The Hare & Hounds pub in Todmorden, located at postcode OL14 8EA, is a historic establishment originally built in the 17th century as a farmhouse. It was later converted into a large and comfortable pub, once owned by Whitbread and then Thwaites Brewery. The pub featured a spacious, semi-open plan lounge with an original massive stone fireplace and an open fire, a small snug, a large separate dining room converted from a barn and cottage, and outside amenities including a terraced beer garden and a large resurfaced car park. The pub served Thwaites beers and guest varieties as well as homemade food prepared to order.
However, as of mid-August 2022, the Hare & Hounds has been closed and boarded up, with new tenants being sought. This closure means the pub is currently not operational for visitors or motorhome stopovers.
