Originally built by the Senior family, founders of the local Sovereign brewery, it has been repurposed since 1948 as an outdoor centre focusing on educational and adventure activities. Cliffe House also serves as a venue for conferences, celebrations, and business events, with catering options available onsite. It is owned and operated by Kirklees Council and functions as a public venue with diverse uses beyond just a traditional pub setting.[1][7][10]
