Motorhome Stopovers in Helensburgh

Helensburgh is a Victorian seaside town on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde in Argyll and Bute, about 25 miles northwest of Glasgow via the A82 and A814. It sits at the southern end of Gare Loch, with the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park a short drive to the northeast. The town is well-known for Hill House, the Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed property managed by the National Trust for Scotland. For motorhomers it marks the start of the west coast run up toward Arrochar, the Rest and Be Thankful, and Inveraray.

Motorhome Stopover Club members have shared verified stopovers in and around Helensburgh — a solid overnight stop before the single-track roads and tighter passes of mid-Argyll, and a convenient point if you’ve crossed from the M8 corridor and are heading north.
