Astbury Motorhome Stopover — Rural Aire Next to Astbury Golf Course, Cheshire
📍 Peel Lane, Astbury, Congleton, Cheshire, CW12 3NQ
About this Motorhome Stop
Tucked down a quiet lane on the Cheshire-Staffordshire border, immediately next to Astbury Golf Course and within easy strolling distance of the village of Astbury, this small family-run stopover has been welcoming motorhomers since 2019. With five properly spaced hardstanding pitches and a service pitch for grey waste, it offers a comprehensive set of services for just £13 a night — and the holding tanks for cassette emptying take care of the black waste side of things too. Malcolm, the site owner, takes bookings directly by phone or email and accepts motorhomes up to 8 metres in length.
Electric is available via generator for agreed hours, limited to 1.5kw per pitch — so leave the electric kettle behind and bring the gas one. Mow Cop’s dramatic National Trust folly sits on the hilltop above, the Cheshire plain stretches to the west, and Astbury Mere Country Park is a pleasant 20-minute walk. Congleton town is an easy mile-and-a-half with supermarkets, pubs and takeaways.
The site is ideally placed for day trips to Little Moreton Hall (3 miles), Biddulph Grange Garden and the Peak District, and Alton Towers is under 40 minutes away by road.
